I’m excited to announce my latest single, Swell! This release includes three songs: Swell, Breaking Apart, and For…Next.
Swell is nostalgic song about what it would have been like to meet your love when you were younger. Would you have noticed each other? Would you have fallen in love just the same? What were they like back then? I was inspired by flipping through some old photos of my wife from long before we met. Interestingly, I originally wrote the guitar riff decades ago when I was in high school, but finally found a way to turn it into a song!
I included Breaking Apart in this single release, though this song was also released on it’s own in January of this year (2026). I really loved recording the guitar, organ, and mellotron parts – I feel they really play off each other nicely.
For…Next is more of an experimental instrumental track in the vein of Radiohead. I had a lot of fun building textures and interesting sounds with my guitar and Boss DD-5 digital delay pedal.

The light and bright instrumentation is reminiscent of classic indie, with shimmering guitars that drift by like a sunny winter afternoon. Kelly Brazil manages to make the song feel both intimate and cinematic, especially in verses where he imagines a connection lost in time before it even existed.
This is a well-written song, performed with emotional intensity and a genuine desire to connect with the listener.
